Fake beef stew

Well everyone- we’ve got snow. Not nearly as much as my mother does but enough to make things a little mucky and set in the craving for warm comfort food. Now, my favorite winter comfort food is a nice Guinness stew with chunks of real beef slow cooked all day in a crock pot. Sadly, we do not own a crock pot nor do I have a husband who drinks alcohol or eats meat. What he does do though is create the most interesting substitutes for “traditional” foods.
Since he is learning and slowly perfecting this recipe I won’t be posting it just yet. But here is what I am posting…

Pretty nice set up, huh? That is our fake beef stew in our small Friendship Cinderella bowl and the Old Orchard dish. What didn’t end up in our bowl for dinner went in to the large Homestead and inside the largest of the Forest Fancies bowl were rolls. Not to toot my own horn, but they were by far the best rolls I have ever made. It is a go-to recipe now and as for Joe’s stew…it was breath-taking! So warm and filling that we almost forgot about the fluffy white stuff pouring out of the sky.
A short post today, guys. My poor hubby is working triple shifts for a few weeks and he needs to get home and rest.
See you all soon!
